WOW! What a place to be in every Sunday morning to feel the Love of Jesus. That's what happens every Sunday as young children are taught the word of God.

We have a Sunday school staff that is second to none. Teachers spend countless hours studying, decorating their classrooms, buying treats, but most of all - Holy Ghost filled.

Our Bus Ministry team is also a very dedicated group. Making sure the bus is ready every Sunday to transport children and some adults to church.

Kid's Power Hour is a lively place. Here children get to participate with a very talented team of young teens. The word of God is portrayed through drama skits; children are encouraged to seek God at the end of every session.

Come and join us, you will be blessed to be a part of church that's on the move to reach people of all walks of life.

Now that Winter has gone, everything is springing to life in our Sunday School class. Flowers are bloomimg, birds are singing; in fact, our class has become a Growing Garden. Grandma Lily is our mascot along with her humminbird, Zip. Your child will become one of God's gardners as they help Grandma Lily work in the garden each week.

Our lessons for this quarter focus primarily on the easter story... the events leading up to the crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Our aim is to explain the true meaning of Easter and the fact that we celebrate Easter because Jesus arose and he is alive.

The Special memory Passage for this quarter is "the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep" (John 10:11). Please help your child commit this verse to memory before the end of the quarter so he will receive a special prize.

Thank you for allowing your child to be a part of our class. We hope you will take time to stop by and see our Growing Garden. We are excited about we expect to see this quarter, not only in the plants in our garden, but in your child.

We both never thought we would ever become Sunday School Teachers. But, given the opportunity to teach the little ones... how could we pass it up? We are so blessed each Sunday morning when we see the children so excited to be there and to learn from God's Word. They are like little sponges! And for our vistors... they seem so so scared and unsure when they first walk in, but through the day and through the Bible lesson, we see their eyes light up and we see that the seed of the Word of God is being planted.

Yes... we both never thought we would become Sunday School Teachers... but thank you Jesus, we wouldn't give it up for anything!

Here at First Pentecostal Church, God has entrusted me to teach His word to our 2nd and 3rd graders.  Not only do I have so much fun preparing our weekly lesson, but I also count it a privilege to have been called to work with such a wonderful group of children.

It is such a blessing to me when I can review on past lessons, and surprisingly enough, the children will remember the things I had taught the previous week.  What a joy!  It shows me that our children are hungry and eager to learn the Word of the Lord - so many of them have an eagerness to come and learn!

Finally, I would like to add that I am so thankful for the help of Sister Martha Garay.  She has been a great blessing to me - I believe we work as a team and that is why it has become so successful in our classroom.  She was Sister Theresa Martinez's helper for many years, and I am thrilled that she has chosen to continue to work in the Sunday school department with me and my class.

Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ!

It is and has been a privilege and honor in serving the Lord in His kingdom.  As the years come and go, the Lord continues to keep saturating us with His wonderful presence.  To be able to hear the Word, worship in song and with praise, watch the AWESOME power of the Holy Ghost minister to our souls and move upon the hearts of every child, brings tremendous joy to our hearts!  We try to instill in every child the GREAT IMPORTANCE of knowing our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, the essentials of Gods plan of Salvation; ~ scripture reference (ACTS 2:38), and the fact of knowing that God has given everyone the opportunity of salvation.Let us share with you a little bit about our class..............

The children come to class every Sunday morning with excitement, an eagerness to learn, hungry for the Word of God, and ready to participate in classroom activities.  We have implemented a point system in our class for the children.  The children are awarded points for the efforts they put forth in each of the following categories; attendance, offering, memorization of bible verses, bringing their bibles to class, bringing a visitor, and classroom participation.  With visible tracking for each individual child, awards are earned along the way of the many different bible journey's they will take throughout the year.  One of our classroom themes is called "Sowing the Word of God."  These lessons have a great impact on the children as they learn the importance of keeping, maintaining, and planting the Word of God within their own hearts, as well as in the hearts of others.

Lots of preparation and prayer goes into our week of teaching, as we are challenged to take the Word of God to the level of understanding in which we hope and pray the children will grasp.  We must be creative in our teaching methods to appeal to the various learning styles of the children.  So with the help of the Lord, we try to teach the children through teaching and visual aids such as bible stories, work sheets, mini skits, games, and crafts.  The children never know what to expect in class each Sunday morning; it' is always a mystery.

Excitement overwhelms us when a child acknowledges the necessity of repentance, baptism, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.  To acknowledge these essentials, the need of having their own close relationship with God, and to continue growth spiritually through His Word, is our main goal for the children.  Once this becomes the childs' goal, we have met our mission.

May the blessings and knowledge of the Lord be with you today and always.

Scripture:

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.  Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.  Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.  Abide in me, an I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; nor more can ye, except ye abide in me.  I am the vine, ye are the branches.  He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.  If a man abide not in me, he is a cast forth as a branch, and is weithered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, an they are burned.  If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.  Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

Psalms 100:2 "Serve the Lord with gladness:come before His presence with singing". Sis. Vicky and I are so thankful for the privilege to teach Sunday School. Every Sunday morning when we arrive at class, we come with gladness and with singing! What a wonderful opportunity to teach young people the Word of God, the mercies of God and the patience of God. Young people are faced with great adversity at school and perhaps even at home. We are thankful to be there for them... the members of our Pre-Teen class and tell them that there is HOPE in this dark world. Young people have come and gone throughout our lives, but we truly believe that what we teach them in our class will continue on in their lives. Psalms 71:5, "Thou art my hope, O Lord God: thou art my trust from my youth."
